Nuestras Rutas

Route 1: Pinilla Reservoir Circuit (28 km) – €40

Discover the essence of the Sierra de Guadarrama on our shortest route, which is full of surprises! Starting from Gargantilla, you will enter a technical section—narrow and wet after the spring rains—that will test your skills. When you reach the reservoir, you will skirt its left side and enjoy a unique panoramic view of Lozoya at the foot of the Puerto de Navafría.

Immerse yourself in the past at the Calvero de la Higuera archaeological site, where Neanderthals lived more than 40,000 years ago, and cross Pinilla del Valle to return to Lozoya along a much gentler path. Before returning, stop at the Pinilla reservoir viewpoint: from there you can photograph Peñalara, the Valdesquí ski slopes, and the imposing Bola del Mundo. After a short 10-minute break, head back towards Gargantilla with your batteries recharged.

Route 2: Valley of Dreams (40 km) – €55

Embark on a journey filled with heritage and unforgettable views. Starting from Gargantilla, you will repeat the initial section of the Express Route until you pass the animal crossing barrier. A short descent will take you to Puente Canto, a medieval bridge from the time of Alfonso XI, whose waterfalls in winter emerge like something out of a fairy tale.

The path then climbs steeply, leaving Canencia on your right, until you reach Garganta de los Montes, where a breathtaking sunset over the Upper Lozoya Valley awaits you. From there, you will descend gently to the hamlet of El Cuadrón, before tackling the 17 km that separate you from Buitrago del Lozoya: Madrid's walled medieval jewel, birthplace of the Marquis of Santillana.

After a well-deserved 10-minute break, you will cross a rough stretch that may require you to get off your bike and cross Villavieja, then return via Pinilla del Valle and complete the last 16 km back to Gargantilla.

Embark on the ultimate adventure that combines the best of the Sierra de Guadarrama: technical challenges, history, and breathtaking views in a single loop. Start in Gargantilla with the narrow, wet section that leads to the reservoir, where you will skirt its left side while enjoying the view of Lozoya at the foot of the Puerto de Navafría. A leap back in time awaits you at the Calvero de la Higuera archaeological site, with more than 40,000 years of history within cycling distance!

After refueling, cross the cattle grid and descend to Puente Canto, a medieval legacy of Alfonso XI that becomes a spectacular waterfall in winter. The trail enters the forest as you climb towards Garganta de los Montes, a natural viewpoint for contemplating the Upper Lozoya Valley at sunset. The route then takes you to El Cuadrón and continues towards Buitrago del Lozoya, the walled town that was the birthplace of the Marquis of Santillana, before tackling the rugged stretch that skirts Villavieja. The return via Pinilla del Valle completes the last few kilometers to Gargantilla, bringing this epic experience full circle.
